Celebrate "Food Day" with a Bologna sandwich

Celebrate "Food Day" with a Bologna sandwich

Today is a day, which comes only once in the year. No, not the day retailers forget, Halloween and Thanksgiving and out their Christmas decorations even earlier than in the previous year. Today is day eating. And "yearly", we mean that it will be revived in the 1970s to solemnly extinct.

What is food day? Well, it is not a celebration of the foods you like (probably). It is a campaign of the Center for Science in the public interest (CSPI) - a group with "reheated Marxist complaints against private companies", that tasty minimizes just about anything - that is, that the "food" celebrated probably steamed organic spinach.

of course a trick could pull even as follows its own the well-to-do CSPI. They have partners. You have a partnership of organizations such as the human society of the United States, which wants more expensive meat, dairy products and eggs on the plate. The Food Day advisory board includes soda-tax loving Rudd Center, also a member of the vegan activist 'Physicians Committee' for responsible medicine and Kelly Brownell, Director of Yale University. This nexus fringe agendas caused the Colorado Department of public health and environment to eat day is.

Food Day echoes CSPI of the latest campaign to ban food advertising to children, despite the lack of to prove that marketing obesity leads. Our Executive Director today writes in a column:

Secondly, is the notion that a cartoon character on a cereal box caused weight gain, is ridiculous. Children have long flacked for candy and other food characters. The characters from the 1940s and 1950s show that sold "Super Circus" Snickers and three Musketeers. Howdy Doody and Mr bluster promoted Twinkies and Tootsie Roll appears. Muesli crunch cowboy actor of Roy Rogers of promoted "candy-coated" sugar.

But in those days, regardless of the symbols, the promotion of sweets and sugary cereals, children were rather low. It was far ahead of the increase in obesity - something that has to do probably much more with a general culture of inactivity as with advertising.

We are not opposed to a celebration of food. We think that a celebration should be a Trojan horse for a scolding food probes. rather, we think that these thoughts by Jeff Mullin of messages and Eagle are closer to the mark:

Because I should really be my age and the history of my family of heart disease, in the Woods chew on pine bark in memory of old Euell [Gibbons, 1970's health food vendors and supporters] from. But what fun?

so eat on this day, treat yourself to a guilty pleasure culinary as a great old fried chicken steak with cream sauce, a greasy Burger with fried onions or a big plate of pasta and sauce with a side of garlic bread.

A little life.

In fact a little life. or celebrations you your fond childhood memories canteen. It is national day, which says agenda than anything more about the credibility of CSPI Bologna.
